Good afternoon, Coyote Pups and families,
I am thrilled to be reaching out to introduce myself as your new principal! I know the 25-26 SY is fast approaching and I hope you all are soaking up every last drop of summer while you can. I wanted to share a little bit about myself and give you all an update about an informal opportunity to come meet with me in person.
I am coming to Christiansburg Primary School from Roanoke City where I most recently served as an Elementary Assistant Principal. Prior to my 8 year career in RCPS, I actually was a substitute teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools before I obtained my teaching license! The more you get to know me, the more you will realize my heart for learning. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Tech and a Masters of Science from Radford University. I am currently working towards earning my doctoral degree from Radford University. Though I am a lifelong learner, my biggest source of pride is my family. I am a mother of 2 amazing children, Alder (9) and Delano (1). My husband, Brent, is also an educator, currently teaching high school science in Salem where we reside.
I am deeply dedicated to listening to and learning about the CPS school community. As a school leader, I believe in the power of relationships. I also prioritize early learning and creating a safe environment where every student can grow. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your children to hold them to high expectations and celebrate their successes. I'm incredibly excited about the possibilities this year holds and am looking forward to working alongside and collaborating with the staff, students, and families. I am confident that together, as partners, we will achieve great things for our students and community, because that is what our little pups deserve!

If interested, please join me for an informal meet and greet opportunity on Wednesday, August 6 from 4:00-5:00 PM. This event will take place on the playground at Christiansburg Primary School.

Returning Student Registration is open! Every returning MCPS student is required to complete this process. Head over to https://www.mcps.org/ and click the "Returning Student Registration" button on the homepage. CPS will also be hosting a registration event if there are any questions.
🍽️ Summer Meals in July 🍽️
Every Monday in July, meals will be available to children 18 and under, free of charge. Meal kits will contain seven breakfasts and seven lunch meals. Pick-up is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on July 7, 14, 21, and 28. at SMS, BES and Belmont Christian Church.
Children do not need to be present at the time of pick-up. This program is open to anyone in the community with children under the age of 18.
